Marc J. Schmidt, Face

My name is Marc J. Schmidt and I am currently based in Hamburg, Germany, working on artificial intelligence, projects for my clients, and open-source.

As a professional freelance software engineer specialised on web technologies, deep learning expert, product manager, interface designer, and entrepreneur with more than 10 years experience in the industry I build products from vision to deployed applications.

My tool is the mistake and my driver the uncomfortable.
From mistakes you learn - uncomfortability forces you to think different.

As highly disciplined German I strive always for the most efficient method with highest perfection/time ratio, and try to do pragmatic decisions.

I find no greater joy than exploring the unexplored, finding allies with like-minded people, and coming one step closer to the next step in evolution of the human race.

Encourage

I encourage you to think outside the box and help finding inspiration to let the seed of thought grow.

Product

I help you define your product and interfaces, based on scientific evidence instead of pure opinions.

Development

I work towards your goals alone or with highly skilled professionals, preferable in short iterations.

Toolkit

Programming languages I enjoy writing and reading are C++14, TypeScript, Python, HTML5, CSS3, PHP.

Concepts and frameworks I have profound knowledge are Angular 2+, Symfony 3+, Propel-ORM, PHP-PM.

I am an expert in Git, Docker, MongoDB, and MySQL.

On daily basis I work with applications like Adobe PhotoShop, SketchApp, JetBrains WebStorm, PyCharm, PHPStorm, Autodesk Inventor, Vim, and my Z shell.

Web services I use regulary are Google Cloud, AWS, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, Travis-CI.

Hire me

I’m sorry, but I’m 2018 not available for gigs anymore.

If you are interested in working something out for the next years, please contact me anytime. I’d love to learn more about your project.

At the moment, I focus on deep learning projects, and very unique web applications. I prefer being paid project based, not on a hourly rate, as working on a hourly basis in fundamentally flawed for both side.
